Knight's Haven Golf & Cigar Club (“Knight's Haven,” “we,” “us”) operates a private, invite-only golf league and the web application at knightshaven.net. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from league members, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Membership information you or the league commissioner provide: your name and mobile phone number, and golf information such as your scores, handicap index, and team.
- Authentication data: we use your email or mobile number to send one-time login passcodes when you sign in.
- Technical data: basic logs (such as request timestamps) needed to operate and secure the app.
We do not collect payment information — league dues are handled offline.
How we use your information
- To send a one-time passcode (by email or SMS, your choice) so you can sign in, when you request it.
- To operate the league: record scores, compute standings and handicaps, and show results.
- If you opt in, to send occasional league updates (such as tee times, match results, and standings) by SMS.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the app.
Text messaging (SMS)
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share your mobile number or SMS opt-in/consent with anyone for their own marketing.
We send two kinds of text messages: (1) transactional one-time login passcodes, sent only when you request a code to sign in; and (2) optional league updates, sent only if you opt in. Sign-in also works by email, so receiving a text is never required to use the app — and opting in to league updates is never required either.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of SMS, and HELP for help.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the app, and only so they can provide that service to us — for example, our SMS provider (Twilio) to deliver the messages you requested, and our hosting and database providers (Netlify and Neon). These providers are bound by confidentiality and may not use your information for their own purposes. We may disclose information if required by law. We never sell your information.
Data retention & security
We keep membership and score information for as long as you are a member and as needed to operate the league, then delete or anonymize it on request. We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect your information, though no method of transmission is completely secure.
Your choices
- Opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting us.
Children
The app is intended for adult league members and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; we will post the new version here with a revised date.
